Arsenal And Barcelona Agree Song Fee

Arsenal has agreed to sell the second world class player this summer, as the Gunners will let their key defensive midfielder Alex Song move to Spain, where he will team up with Fabregas at Barcelona.

Both Arsenal and Barcelona have announced on their official websites that Cameroon international Alex Song will be joining the Catalans. Arsenal posted on its site:

“Arsenal Football Club can confirm that terms have been agreed for the transfer of Alex Song to Barcelona.

“Song will now travel to the Catalan club to agree personal terms and undergo a medical ahead of the proposed move.”

And Barcelona confirmed the news immediately, saying:

“FC Barcelona has agreed a deal with Arsenal FC for the transfer of Alex Song to the Camp Nou. The fee is 19million euros,” read the statement.

“The Cameroon international midfielder will sign for the next five seasons with a release clause of 80million euros.

“On Monday he’ll have a medical and then join the rest of the squad for the official team presentation at the Gamper.”

Now, Wenger probably didn’t have much choice but sell Song, but what will they do in the next season without both RVP and Song? The thing is that they didn’t look too great in their first game against Sunderland, so if the Frenchman won’t bring some tally in the midfield which can bring in a bit more creativity, the Gunners will have little chance to do too much next season.

When Man Utd and Liverpool sold Ronaldo and Torres respectively were they also described as KEY players, or does that adjective only apply to Arsenal players.

Arsenal need a tested and a proved striker from spanish league to replace Robin Van Persie. And a good and quality mid-fielder to replace Alex song that is in an exit train.

AW has bought the replacements already … Podolski and Giroud.

I am impressed with arsenal‘s first premiership game this season. And I dont care if any player leave the club . Can you blame the club if a player desires to leave . Pls, stop blaming the manager or board. Arsenal will do well this season- am sure of it.

The problem at Arsenal is the failure to realise that we have a problem.
It takes wisdom and intelligence for one to realise that they are in the wrong, and to correct a mistake and move on takes courage.
Judging fron today’s game, the only sensible signing Wenger has made is that of Carzola. Truth be told, the other 2 are uninspiring. There’s need to buy two word class players to replace RVP and Song. Now, with the departure of Song, Wenger will still tell you that Arsenal will compete at the very top. That’s what we call madness.

There’s no need for an inquest for us to realise why our best players want to leave Arsenal.
Whilst some sections of die hard fans still believe in Arsene, the truth points an accusing finger at Mr. Wenger and his board.
Arsenal,in its current form, can’t compete for trophies and for me it’s baseless to believe that we can ever win anything.
For the love of the game and the team, Kronke must step aside for Usmanov who seems not short of ideas of how he might improve dwindling fortunes on the pitch.
