Bielsa To Stop Llorente’s Move To Premiership?

Athletic Bilbao boss Marcelo Bielsa has refused to be drawn into the controversy surrounding the supposed spat between him and star striker Fernando Llorente, who has been highly linked with United and Arsenal lately.
The prolific Spain international was one of the standout performers for the La Liga side last season and the club are determined to keep hold of him as he enters the final year of his contract. The striker was omitted from the squad which faced Slaven Belupo in a Europa League encounter and Bielsa earlier stated that it was down to fitness issues.
However, there were widespread reports linking him with a move away after the player refused to sign an extension with his current employers. Manchester United have been tipped to strike a pre contract agreement with Llorente in January so that the Red Devils could get him for free next summer.
“It’s a private matter not yet resolved,” said Bielsa prior to Thursday’s Europa League tie against Slaven Belupo. “I want the best for the team, the player and the club.”
Arsenal, Manchester City and most recently Manchester United have been mooted as possible destinations for the talented Spaniard as the 27 year old has made it clear to move to a bigger club so as to feature regularly in Champions League.
