Dzagoev On The Verge Of Joining Arsenal?

Rumors speaking about Alan Dzagoev’s possible move to Arsenal are fast gaining momentum as according to the latest reports the London club have already established contact with CSKA Moscow over a possible move involving the striker.

The 21 year old has caught the attention of many with his stunning performance in the Euros despite the fact that Russia eventually lost the knockout stage qualification. Arsene Wenger has taken a strong interest in the attacking midfielder and is determined to gamble on him even after Arshavin’s supposed failure to adapt to the demands of English football.

Arshavin was sent on a loan deal to Zenit this winter and is expected back in the club for the pre-season trip to the Far East and Nigeria. Arsene Wenger is willing to talk with the Russian club over a permanent move for the player. Dzagoev, who is touted as Arshavin’s successor in the Russian football team, is being targeted as the replacement and may arrive at the Emirates shortly now that Russia returned home from the Euros.

The CSKA star is happy at his club and has no immediate plans to leave but with just half a year left on his current contract, Wenger may manage to get him for cheap. CSKA would want a sum in excess of £13m but it’s learnt that they might be forced into accepting a fee around £10m given they could lose the player for free at the end of the year.

What do you think ? Should Wenger take a gamble again with another promising Russian star?

As we have seen in past couple of years Russians don’t do that well in the EPL…arshavin, pavlochenko(sp), zhirkov just of the top. Besides he didn’t look that sharp outside the right time right place goals he scored.

Yes arsenewenger, should try him may his own would not be like arshavin, zircove and pavely.

God no! Do not rate him at all. He’d be just another journeyman mercenary looking for big money. No soul for Arsenal at all.

I think that we should give him a chance. His style of play is perfect for arsenal and we don’t have a great attacking midfield player at present anyway. He would fit right in if you ask me.

Still prefer afellay. If we do sign him I don’t expect him to work wonders for arsenal. He’s very young so I’m sure he could develop wonderfully given the right amount of time and opportunity. But as for Arsenal wanting to be a contendor this season and convince rvp to stay, afellay is much less of a risk than dzagoev.

He’s the hardest worker on that Russian team. That is why he scored his goals. I would take him in a heartbeat. We need more depth in our squad and he is 21 with plenty of room for improvement

He is a quality player, hard working. Whether he adapts to English football…remains to be seen! Arsenal need quality players to win any trophy.

He is very skillful on the ball as He can be a good midfielder. Arsenal does not have an attacking midfielder probabaly he can be a better one comparatively to Ashavin and he is more younger in age than his predecessor, Wenger go for him, you will never regret.

He will definitely add something lacking in our squared i.e. an attacking midfielder that has eyes for goals. Splendid for our attack. He also has other good qualities such as strength, skills, robustness and good marking ability. Verdict: Venger, don’t waste time now that russian euros are over. SIGN HIM.
