Liverpool and Chelsea ponder Walcott move

Arsenal officials are ready to cash in on Theo Walcott despite Arsene Wenger’s desire to keep hold of the talented Englishman.

The 21 year old still has a year left on his contract but has refused to sign an extension until his wage demands of 100k per week are met by the club. In the wake of club captain Robin Van Persie’s decision to not re-sign with the Gunners, Walcott too seems keen on a move away from the Emirates. It is understood that Wenger wants to keep him but the Arsenal board is divided over him and a section of them are eager to cash in on the midfielder if a suitable offer is made.

Liverpool and Chelsea are interested in the pacy winger although Walcott may prove to be surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge after recent acquisitions of Eden Hazard and Marko Marin. New Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is intent on signing the player as an apt replacement to Dirk Kuyt. However, it is learnt that the purchase of the England international could very well depend on the sale of Andy Carroll as the club look to offload him.

Rodgers, who made Swansea play free flowing passing football, doesn’t have Carroll in his plans at Anfield and are listening to offers presently.
