Santos forward Neymar has agreed a deal to join Barcelona in the summer of 2014, according to Barcelona full back Dani Alves.
Brazil international Neymar is arguably the most sought after player due to his amazing performances for club and country. His astonishing form has led to speculation that he will move on to play for a big club in Europe and he has been linked with clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona and Chelsea who are ready to pay a sum expected to be over £50 million.
Neymar has previously spoken of his pride of being linked with top clubs and acknowledged their interest. He had said, “It is very simple, If Barcelona are interested you listen, If Real Madrid are interested you listen, If Chelsea are interested you listen.”
Real Madrid have been scouting Neymar in recent seasons and the Bernabeu hierarchy is keen to land the superstar. Chelsea have also been linked with him as Oscar, Neymar’s Brazil teammate, has vetoed his club Chelsea over others and wants a Samba reunion.
However, Barcelona have always been the favourites for Neymar with the 21-year-old wanting to play alongside Messi and according to Dani Alves, Neymar’s Brazil teammate, a deal has already been agreed with Santos and Barcelona with the forward expected to join the Catalan club in the summer of 2014.
“He knows what is happening and the deal that he has which is to come to the club in the near future. If I were him I would come as soon as possible because it would allow him to improve the tactical side of his game before the World Cup,” Alves said.
Alves agreed that he would rather have Neymar before the summer of 2014 if it was upto him but accepted that it’s not his decision to make. He said, “I have already told him what I think. He knows what Barcelona can offer because I have made it my duty to tell him. But at the same time I can’t grab him and bring him here. If I could I would have already done it. It’s his decision.”Show
