RVP on the brink of departure finally?

The future of Robin Van Persie at Arsenal has become shadier after the club did not allocate a jersey number to their new signing Lukas Podolski.

Van Persie has been given shirt number 10 ahead of the new season but with increasing possibility of a departure this summer, the club’s decision to not allocate a number to Podolski casts further doubts on the Dutchman’s future. The German international sounded confident of replacing the 28 year old and it seems that Arsene Wenger is of the same opinion.

The Dutch striker’s future is still unsorted as Manchester United and Juventus keep pressing for his signature after the player ruled out a move to the Eastlands. The Turin club are set to offer him a mammoth £190,000 a week deal to lure him away to the Serie A as United are unlikely to match their wage deal.

New recruit Olivier Giroud from Ligue 1 champions Montpellier has been assigned number 12 ahead of the new season while Polish custodian Wojciech Szczesny has been rewarded with number 1 after his consistent performances last season under the bar for the Gunners. It is expected that Podolski would be given the squad number 10 if Van Persie does leave.

Park has been given the no.9 shirt! – maybe that is why Podolski is waiting at the moment.

Why are they wasting the number 9 shirt on someone who won’t play a match ?

Please let him go,like what one of the fans says if Elijah was still around on Earth we wouldn’t have seen the glory of our God in Elisha…..Dennis, Anelka, Henry and host of other have participated and execute their skills at Arsenal we never believed we can replace them all. For years Rvp was injured by chellinni during Italy and Holland friendly some years back, but was nursed my Arsenal fc where are those teams running after them?Strikers comes and strikers goes the club will still remain and fans we continue to support. please let him leave,we all thank him.

As long as he leaves the Premier League i’ll think the club did what was in their power. If they agree to sell him to United they will have made an error in my opinion. How much does it cost to assemble a Premiership winning team nowadays ? 100s of millions clearly. Therefore the leagues’ best player as voted by the experts needs to be much more expensive to a league rival than to a team in a foreign league. RvP shot himself in the foot by releasing that statement because he now must leave this summer or issue an embarassing apology. If he hadn’t released the statement he could’ve refused to go to Juventus and held out for United when his contract expires but he has burnt his bridges with Arsenal meaning that if Arsenal will only sell him abroad he basically has to go. Alienating himself from the club and the fans has done him no favours.
