RVP Out, Dzeko In At Arsenal ?

With the future of Arsenal’s captain Robin van Persie still far from conclusion, new English champions Manchester City are circling around the Dutchman like hungry sharks and a swap deal may arise.

Former Arsenal man Ray Parlour believes that a deal could possibly be worked out which could see van Persie head to the Etihad Stadium, and City’s out-of-favor striker Edin Dzeko coming the other way.

Van Persie’s announcement regarding his decision of not renewing his contract with the Gunners have put City on alert, whose manager Roberto Mancini is a known admirer of the Dutch striker, and has made his wish clear of landing last season’s Premier League top scorer.

Dzeko, on the other hand, has not been able to live up to the billing since joining the Citizens, and is now behind Carlos Tevez, Sergio Aguero and Mario Balotelli in the pecking order. With the Bosnian international seeking regular first-team football, Parlour believes that Dzeko could swap the blue of City with the red and white of Arsenal next season.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Parlour said, “I don’t know what Arsenal will look at, but if [Van Persie] does want to go to Manchester City then maybe they could look at a swap deal with someone like Dzeko and bring him in,”

“His wages might be a problem. I don’t know what kind of wages Dzeko is on at Manchester City and Arsenal have always had that pay structure that they want to keep to and maybe they have to change that.

“Times are moving on and if you want the best players they go for the best money.”

I dont think Arsenal need Dzeko. If RvP goes to City, Arsenal should take Adam Johnson and John Guidetti in return

Dats right. I wonda y no one is talkin abt adam johnson. IMHO i prefer him to walcot. Since walcot is leavin its wise for wenger to include adam johnson to d van persie deal

RVP must, for Arsenal’s good, go quickly, ANYWHERE.
A deal with Citeh involving Dzeko sounds fine, provided Wenger thinks a swap will work.
RVP must leave before pre-season ends and preferably without taking part.

      Why?
RvP has 12 months of his existing contract. If he is as good as people make out then why weaken Arsenal just to placate the individual?

Anyone who believes he will be an unsettling influence in the dressing room is clearly ignoring his own need to perform to the highest standards to keep suitors interested.

nobody is indispensable, will he sees does passes that made what he is? Let wait and see. Wenger should get Dzeko and money from city, we will be fine gunner for life

Rvp / Giroud / Podolski : 80 goals between them last season. Assuming he stays fit a good reason to hold him to his existing contract.

    Let him go!

    • mystic, 10 months ago Reply

So he feels better? I don’t see how it assists Arsenal.

Rvp is not d problem but d so-called board @ d emirate, sell him if he don’t want to stay and buy 1 keeper, defender and midfeilder.

  8. mystic, 10 months ago Reply

As it is fairly likely that the board will not reinvest what is the purpose of reducing the playing squad by letting RvP go?

R.v.p should stay at arsenal and sign a new contract for the club. I don’t see any reason selling him to any english club this season. But the board should sign more good players for the club so that will can win league this season.

Soldier goes, soldier comes. Rvp going is not the end of the world for arsenal football club but a challenge for the club and Rvp to show both can succeed with one another. Thousands of players have come and gone in different eras of the club history, that is what makes a club History.
