Should Wenger Still Keep Arshavin?

Gunners’ boss Arsene Wenger has revealed that Russian midfielder Andrei Arshavin could still have a future at the club as he is set to hold talks with the player.

The 31 year old moved to the Emirates in January of 2009 from Zenit for £15m but has since struggled to adjust himself to the rigors of the English game. The little Russian has always been regarded as one with great ability but he failed to reproduce his form for Russia in the Premier League. Wenger, as he aims to gather more funds to bring in more players this summer, was believed to be keen on offloading the midfielder with Zenit and Al Sadd both interested in his signature. However, the Arsenal manager confirmed that he is planning to talk with the estranged attacking midfielder and sort out his future.

“Arshavin, it depends. We have to sit together and have talks. He could still have a future at the club,” said Wenger in the Daily Mail.

However, Wenger announced that the trio of Nicklas Bendtner, Sebastian Squillaci and Park Chu-Young will be most definitely heading out of the club before the start of season.

“Bendtner, Squillaci and Park will be on their way to go somewhere,” said Wenger.

Keep him and play him from the middle and stop using him on the wings.

If only one could expect displays from him like the Liverpool game.
Only HE can convince Wenger that his future lies at the Emirates.

No … only Wenger can select him to play where he plays well – which is NOT left win !

Get rid of him absolute waste of a player or maybe no one wants him. When adebayor was under performing most wanted him out. What makes this clown different ?

What is different is that Wenger has lacked the tactical flexibility to play Arshavin where he is good – which is NOT left wing !

Asharvin is expensive and we certainly have not had our money`s worth out of him so far. Were he to stay he would have to be 100% comitted and be played in his most effective position. Being a player of obvious mood swings this is a big ask. At his level and on his salary there is little room for excuses or sentiment unless he is injured. Yes, he was played out of position but it was his attitude that let him down, he just didn`t show enough interest . So, for me he`s not professional enough for Arsenal.

Gunner and Aussie Jack check the stats of AA23 for the last 3 seasons for Arsenal before saying we didnt get our money’s worth out of him. Being played out of his desired position that is in the wings where one has to track back as well, AA23 had the most no of assists after Cesc and also he scored decent amount of goals. Last season he wasnt given a chance at all because we fans keep on demotivating our own players. The only problem is AA23 cant defend but he is one of the best attackers in world football. I still dont understand why AW doesnt use AA23 in the ‘hole’ position. Wenger used him just once against Fulham in CC match last season and we saw what the little Russian did in that game. He needs to be given the free role. Cazorla if signed can take his natural position which is Left Wing.
