Walcott To Follow Van Persie Out?

Arsenal winger Theo Walcott could be the next in line to force an exit after Gunner Captain Robin Van Persie decided not to sign a contract extension last week.

Walcott, 23, joined Arsenal as a 16 year old from Southampton turning down various top clubs in the process. The England international impressed everyone with his displays last season especially against Milan and gradually found himself as one of the mainstays of the side. But Van Persie’s decision to leave has unsettled Walcott who also has a year remaining on his current contract.

Chelsea are monitoring the situation closely and could be tempted to put in an official offer if Walcott refuses to sign an extension. Meanwhile, the officials at the Emirates are still hopeful of persuading their Dutch striker into signing a new deal according to insiders. The club leaves for their pre season tour on Jul 24th and Arsene Wenger and officials would hold another round of talks with Van Persie before that.

This situation is going all wrong and pear-shaped.
    1. Van Persie won’t sign an extension. Transfer ops should start asap and a replacement sought.
    2. Walcott should be offered a contract extension on better terms. If he fails to agree, transfer ops should again be started.

No players who are unhappy should be retained. The Club is bigger than they are.

I think some AFC fans are overreacting we should allow AW to handle the situation bcos non of us really knows for sure what is in the players mind so the club should try and see if any of the situation can be salvage we should do things on our terms not on the terms of some Rival clubs or some greedy agents, also we should be very very careful not to fall into the traps of the mega rich mercenary club bcos they don’t give a damn about AFC. I guaranty you that this will be an annual trend unless we handle this one properly, the formuler is 1)AFC most be in control,2)RVP must complete his contract or at least stay till January window3) two or three more signings most take place. The idea of sell sell him quick and use the money and buy is embarrassing to AFC that is the main reason this mega rich clubs will continue to prey on our valuable players annually since we love the cash.
