Arsenal target Ki Sung-Yueng is also wanted by La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid according to latest reports.
The 23 year old Korean international has been likened to Englishman Steven Gerrard and the Gunners’ have been hot in the trails of the youngster for sometime. Celtic have revealed that they are willing to let the Asian move if the right price is offered and Arsenal are expected to make a formal enquiry very soon. Arsene Wenger’s chief scout Steve Rowley is believed to be a strong admirer of Ki who also impressed for his nation during the Olympics as South Korea bagged bronze.
The Scottish outfit value him at close to £9m and Arsenal and Atletico would have to cough up that amount if they are to take the exciting midfielder home. QPR have recently emerged as another possible destination for the Korean although Ki isn’t keen on moving to Loftus Road and be in the shadows of fellow countryman Ji Sung Park. However, the Celtic midfielder is open to the idea of a move to Spain and hence Atletico Madrid would fancy their chances beating the Gunners’ to his signature.

If he is for Arsenal, he will come.

After our record with past Japanese and Korean players think it would be better if this lad headed elsewhere and not in our direction.

Saw him destroy Ramsey, Cleverly, and Allen. Probably as hot a talent as someone like Oscar, he seemed to be able to withstand the pressing of Sandro and Oscar against Brazil

Would be a great acquistion — Ki was the main factor in controlling the ball for the Koreans during the Olympics.

QPR is a prudent choice, since he would most likely have more first team opps, have runway to establish himself as an indespensible player at the club, mature as a footballer, and help the club avoid being inundated by relegation fears… just my two cents
