Former Chelsea first team coach Ray Wilkins believes that despite Arsenal’s efforts to sign Didier Drogba from Shanghai Shenhua, the Ivorian would never move to the North London club.
The Gunners are in search of another striker after the departure of Robin Van Persie to Manchester United has left them short in that department. After their new recruit Olivier Giroud fluffed most of his chances in the opening three fixtures of the new season, Arsene Wenger has realized the need to sign a new striker.
According to reports, Arsenal are willing to lure the former Blue star to the Emirates after learning the 35 year old is not happy with life at Shanghai. Drogba, after moving from Marseille to Chelsea eight years back, had gone on to achieve plenty with the Blues most recently helping them lift the Champions League last season.
Ray Wilkins however, feels that Drogba is too emotionally attached to the Blues to even consider a move to their city rivals.
“How can he go to Arsenal after spending eight years at Chelsea?” he said on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast. “Didier, in his heart of hearts, would think that’s a step too far.”

I disagree with Wilkins views.Drogba may be emotional about Chelsea but if at his age right now he’s sure that he still has something to offer and play for, he should go ahead and do so if Arsenal gives him an offer. It’s about the game and the passion for it and not the city , country or rivalry.
