Fair enough running the club sustainably, I’m not saying do a Chelsea or city. But look at spurs, they receive 25m for modric and put 22m bid in straight for moutinho. Yeah they didn’t succeed, but they still tried! We’v sold Adebayor 25m rvp 24m cesc 35m song 15m nasri 25m Henry 16m clichy 7m toure 16m and not even spent half that money! Not to mention the HUGE profits from ticket sales and 40m a year from reaching the champions league knock out stages! the only debt we have is the stadium debt, which is by NO MEANS very much at all compared to those annual figures ive just mentioned. If their model is so “sustainable” then it shouldnt rely on that 40m a year obtained from Champions League football, and so that 40m should be a bonus. As well as that, any transfer market profit should also be a profit, cos a “sustainable model” wouldnt rely on selling players. I know for a fact that our stadium debt and player wages are more than covered by our ticket revenue, so where does all the other money go that i quoted? straight to board members’ pockets. AND on top of all this, they spend preseasson in the far east to boost more commercial revenue, and all the while our players come back from preseason unfit, unpracticed having only played a couple of matches, meaning it takes ages for our season to kick off! but the board don’t care, cos theyll sacrifice the start of our season for some stupid commercial revenue for the far east. Is that how “our club shoud be run?” obviously not.

Dont blame wenger, he obviously has no power. We’v seen this when he’s been adamant to not sell nasri, rvp or cesc, but all of them have been sold cos the board forced his hand. If he could spend he would, he’s not stupid. The board won’t let him. Perhaps in the future he’ll admit it in an autobiography or something, but he cant say anything now or he’ll get sacked, and he’d rather still try and keep the club successful. to the shareholders lets consider the following.
1. AFC is a privately owned business. Fact is the Majority shareholder controls how
the business is run and how the money it makes is or is not spent.
2. The majority shareholder has decided since he assumed control of the club that
the assets of the club will be sold to maximize profitability (his). Key players,
properties etc.
3. We, the longstanding Arsenal fans are going to suffer a mediocre team on the pitch
for as long as our support enables him to obtain a significant return on his investment
in the club.
4. When Arsene leaves at the end of his current contract with the club (in 2 years)
we will lose him and whatever stars we have left (re Wilsher, OX, Sardosa, Szeser).
5. His business direction to team management will continue to ensure that we will no
longer be able to attract top players to the team or compensate fairly the stars
we will develop. They will be sold as soon as their value is sufficiently high that
AFC can command a top dollar from other teams for their services.
Our Arsenal is a private business and the owners can and will do whatever they wish with the club.
The ONLY way we can influence at all with how the club is run is to stop buying merchandise and tickets to Arsenal games. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY.
QUITE honestly with our fading reputation as a top club, loss of Champions league status this coming season, the sale of all of star players to the highest bidders every season and Arsenes pending departure as “the Man” our future looks increaingly bleak in the coming years. This will only change if our majority owner decides it needs to change or he sells the team.
It is a very sad day to realize that this is what the future holds for team..

I am so surprised and disappointed in some of this comment I read.
Few weeks ago I wrote an article titled ” Who is to be blame for Arsenal problems” and I received so many wrong answers saying the board.
The board is not meant to be blamed, but the FANS. Imagine you have an inferior goods in stock and customer still patronize you when they can either come back and batter you then get you arrested or stay away completely from you shop.
We failed to face the fact. Honestly, I was once an arsenal to the last drop of my blood but now, never, only see them when I’m less busy cos I cant afford to loose my job.

im a really disappointed supporter. honestly im staring at the pc 24/7 since the day we sold rvp hopping that we would finally invest the money and buy something good to replace him. instead of that we lost song for barcelona (who can blame him after all). until the last minute of transfer window deadline i was hopping for something to change. unfortunately and really sadly nothing happen. i really wonder where are all these money going. someone has to justify for that. they really deserve some bouhous to the next match winning or loosing. every year is a back step.

All wenger wants is getting money for the board members and at the same time trying to protect his misfit players like diaby, djorou, ramsey, sczeny etc. I cannot imagine a coach sending out 18 players and only signing 3, loosing two quality players and with all the money we have, wenger cannot buy a good defensive midfielder simply because wenger believe if he does then people like diaby will not be relevant. It is really unfortunate that wenger is no more interested in getting trophy for the team but rather getting money for the board and protecting his misfit players. We don’t have good goalkeeper, no good back up in our defence and no good defensive midfielder and a prolific striker. We will never forgive wenger if we end the season trophy less

As usual andsad is the custom every year, all prophets of doom have started prophesying doom and abusers have been pouring out abuses evento people who are older than their parents just because they have free media and liberty to do so. Despite all the Armageddon you had expected for the past 7 years, the club had never failed to be at the top. I am sure most of those who post messages with invectives have never been to the Emirate or contribute a penny to the success of the club. Like I have submitted earlier, a fan has liberty to shift loyalty if the club you are supporting does not live up to your expected standard, it is never a do or die affair. Spending big is not necessarily synonymous with success. Inspite of the expensive and big earners on the field, Chelsea suffered a disgrace on the field yesterday in the hand of Athletico Madrid. This is a clear cut proof that money could be misspent. This is not to say that Arsenal Board and Wenger should not have brought another DM, but they are the ones running the club and they know the finances better. What you cannot take away from the Board and Wenger is that they have turned Arsenal into a stable club and a perennial competitor at every big stage. I must submit that it Is very idiotic for anybody to think that a football club is only concerned with the goings on the field. A football club must first see itself as a business that must work for stability, profitability, sustenability, and then continuous progress. This ensures that it continues to be competitive. It is the over concentration on the field activities in the form of outrageous sign on fees and wages that sent many clubs out of market and make them become debt ridden. Arsenal is not in the same league as Chelsea and Man City because these clubs live on charities, while Man U and Liverpool are living on borrowed time deeply emeshed in debt so we are not at the same level. The season is too early, let us wait and watch what happens. Wenger has never failed to be at the top and he knows better.

Folks I think we have long forgotten the great Usmanov..only this man is capable to save this club and bring back the glories and joy that we used to have during his tenure in AFC. AW is a very old man, he has no where to go although some offers did came knocking but this old man is not stupid after all..he knows exactly what is expected out of him though..same expectation alike the “invisible era” is hard to emulate once again especially with other foreign clubs, so he decided to toy along with the bastard Kronke- using his past credentials as a bargaining chips.
